Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28.09.2026

MobTech Ads Limited ("MobTech Ads," "we," "us," or "our"), a company registered in Hong Kong with its registered address at 15/F Effectual Building 16, Hennessy Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong, operates the website mobtechads.com (the "Site"). This is an informational site: it does not collect information from you through any form, and we do not knowingly gather personal data beyond what is described below. This Privacy Policy explains what is collected automatically when you visit, and your rights.

As a Hong Kong company, MobTech Ads Limited is a "data user" under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) ("PDPO"), enforced by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data ("PCPD"). Where our visitors are located in the EEA, UK, or elsewhere, we also note how we meet the expectations of those frameworks below.

1. What this Policy covers

This Policy covers visitors to the Site. It does not cover data processed on behalf of our advertising or publishing clients under separate commercial agreements, which is governed by the terms of those agreements, and it does not cover any third-party site you may reach by following a link from the Site.

2. Information we collect

Because the Site has no contact form, account system, or newsletter sign-up, we do not knowingly collect your name, email address, or any other information you would type in. The only data generated by your visit is:

CategoryExamplesSource
Technical dataIP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring URL, approximate location derived from IPCollected automatically via standard web logs, our hosting platform, and Cloudflare's security infrastructure

We do not knowingly collect financial account details, government ID numbers, or other sensitive personal data through the Site.

3. How we use this information

  • To operate, secure, and improve the Site, including protecting it from denial-of-service attacks, spam, and other automated abuse
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used (e.g. which pages are viewed), where such analytics are enabled
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell this data to third parties, and we do not use it for third-party advertising targeted at you.

4. How this complies with Hong Kong's Data Protection Principles

The PDPO does not require a "legal basis" in the GDPR sense; instead, a data user must satisfy six Data Protection Principles (DPPs) set out in Schedule 1 of the Ordinance. Here is how we apply each one on the Site:

  • DPP1 — Purpose and manner of collection. The only data collected is the technical data generated automatically by your browser when it requests a page, gathered for the lawful purpose of running and securing the Site.
  • DPP2 — Accuracy and retention. Technical logs are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security and operational purposes (see Section 7).
  • DPP3 — Use of personal data. Technical data is used only to operate and secure the Site, or a directly related purpose — never repurposed for marketing to you individually.
  • DPP4 — Security of personal data. We rely on Cloudflare's security infrastructure to protect data against unauthorized or accidental access, processing, erasure, loss, or use.
  • DPP5 — Openness and transparency. This Policy sets out our practices and the limited data we hold, so you can find out what we do with it.
  • DPP6 — Access and correction. You may ask whether we hold identifiable data about you (see Section 8).

Where visitors are located in the EEA or UK, and the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to the technical data described above, we rely on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Site as the legal basis for that processing.

5. Cookies and third-party services

The Site uses a limited set of third-party services necessary for security and delivery:

  • Cloudflare (DNS, CDN, and security) — used to deliver the Site securely and protect it from denial-of-service attacks. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Hosting/website platform provider — the Site is built and hosted using a third-party website-building platform, which may log standard technical data as part of providing hosting infrastructure.

We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or analytics cookies that identify you individually. If this changes — for example, if we add an analytics tool — we will update this Policy and, where required, request your consent via a cookie banner.

6. How we share information

We share technical data only in the following circumstances:

  • With service providers who help us operate and secure the Site (e.g., Cloudflare, our hosting provider), under obligations to protect it
  • Where required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections

7. Data retention

Technical logs are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for security monitoring and operating the Site, after which they are deleted or anonymized, consistent with our hosting and security providers' standard retention periods.

8. Your rights

Under DPP6 and Part 5 of the PDPO, you are entitled to ascertain whether we hold personal data of which you are the data subject, request access to it within a reasonable time, and request correction of any data that is inaccurate. Given that the Site does not collect identifiable information beyond standard technical logs, we are unlikely to hold data that identifies you individually, but we will respond to any request in good faith.

If you are located in the EEA or UK, you may additionally have rights to object to or restrict certain processing, to the extent the GDPR or UK GDPR applies.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11.

If you believe we have not handled your personal data in accordance with the PDPO, you may lodge a complaint directly with us, or make a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD) under section 37 of the PDPO. Visitors outside Hong Kong may instead, or in addition, have the right to lodge a complaint with their own local data protection authority.

9. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for business audiences and is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Site's functionality (for example, if a contact form or analytics tool is added later), or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the Policy was last revised.

11. Governing law and contact

This Policy is governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, including the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486), without regard to conflict-of-law principles. This does not remove any mandatory protection you are entitled to under the law of your own country of residence, where applicable.
